Located at 36 km away from Bucharest, on Bucuresti-Oltenita road, in Herasti, near the shore of Arges and at 15 km away from the Danube.
A) Herasti stone palace was built in the first decades of the century XVII during the reign of Matei Basarab.
The first mention of the stone house is made in 1657 by Paul of Aleppo Syrian, the Secretary of Patriarch Macarius of Antiahiei.
The house is built of limestone blocks of Vrata.
Udriste Nasturel placed the house with long facades from south to east to the Arges River.
Is composed of:
Ground floor: two halls of the stairs turn to access the floor;
Floor: 7 rooms (5 large and 2 small).
Built area: 680 sqm (340 sqm / floor).
In 1831 the house comes into the possession of Milos Obrenovici, Prince of Serbia, who made a number of changes, added a two-story brick tower and a new wing in the north-west and landscaped park that surrounds it.
In 1881 Anastase Stolojan take possession and remains in family ownership until 1949 when it passed into state ownership.
In 1964 the house was restored and brought to its original shape as shown before Milos Obrenovici.
It was turned into a museum of furniture and fittings.
B) House Administration (House Stolojan) was built in 1835 (ground and first floor).
Built of brick, concrete floors and stairs, wrought iron railings, wood joinery, brick floors downstairs and upstairs floor.
Does the electrical wiring and central heating.
Built area: 494 sqm (247 sqm / floor).
C) Administrator home was built in 1850 (brick, electric, wood stoves).
Built area: 166 sqm (ground floor only).
